Use your Targetlytics data in your own tools and your own AI
A REST API and an MCP connector give you read access to everything the app shows: how often AI names you, the pages it cites, the facts it gets wrong, your to-do list and the visits AI sends you. Both are included on every plan.
The short answer
- REST API at https://api.targetlytics.com/v1, authenticated with an API key you create in Settings › API.
- MCP connector at https://api.targetlytics.com/mcp. Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT as a custom connector and sign in.
- Both are read-only today. Nothing in your account changes through them.
- Included on every plan, with no limit on team seats.
REST API (Targetlytics API)
Create a key in the app under Settings › API. Keys start with tl_live_ and are shown once; we store only a hash. A company can hold up to 10 keys, and you can revoke any of them.
Send the key as a Bearer token. Every endpoint is a GET under /v1, and returns JSON. The full reference, with every parameter, is at https://api.targetlytics.com/v1/docs and as OpenAPI at /v1/openapi.json.
- Brands and account: /v1/brands, /v1/account, /v1/brands/{brandId}/profile
- Where you stand: visibility, competitors, prompts, prompt-runs, prompt-runs/{runId}, stolen-queries
- What AI reads and gets wrong: citations, hallucinations, serp, technical-audit
- What to do and what it earned: action-items, content-assets, traffic-attribution, health-score
- Your own facts: knowledge/search
- Rate limit: 600 requests a minute per key.

The connector lets you and your team ask about your own Targetlytics data inside Claude or ChatGPT: "Which questions did we lose to a competitor this week?" or "What did AI get wrong about our pricing?"
There is nothing to install. Add a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT with the address below, then sign in with your Targetlytics account. You can see and disconnect every connection in Settings › Connections.
- Read tools: list brands, account status, brand profile, visibility trend, competitors, prompts, prompt runs and run detail, citations, stolen queries, hallucinations, health score, to-do items, content assets, search results, AI traffic, technical audit, ads overview, and a search over your own brand facts.
- Every tool is marked read-only. The connector cannot publish, send or change anything.
- Rate limit: 120 requests a minute.

Targetlytics can also publish your product and page facts as a public MCP server that outside AI agents query to look you up. That one is about your brand being found. The connector above is private, for your team's own data. See the brand MCP server page for how the public one works.
What isn't available yet
- Write access: marking a to-do done, approving drafts or starting runs is done in the app.
- Webhooks: alerts go to Slack and email today.
- SDKs: call the REST API directly, or generate a client from the OpenAPI document.
